Line closures August weekends

On Saturday 20 & Sunday 21 August and Saturday 27 & Sunday 28 August, rail replacement buses will operate between Watford Junction and St Albans Abbey, and stations will be closed, to allow Network Rail to undertake improvement works along the Abbey Line and on the platforms at Watford Junction and Bricket Wood stations.

Only weeks to save the Flyer

The Department for Transport (DfT) will be re-letting the contract for the West Midlands rail franchise in 2017, which includes the Abbey Line. When DfT finalise the specification in summer 2016, investment in the line will effectively be fixed for another decade.

That specification is now open for public consultation.
