As part of the recent St Albans planning consultation we have provided three points for them to consider (thanks to one of our members for highlighting a confusion over our initial wording which we have clarified in this second version).

  1. The Local Plan should concentrate new housing developments in sustainable locations close to rail links to meet the travel to work and leisure needs of new home occupants.
  2. To promote and support investment in the Abbey Line (including a passing link at Bricket Wood) to provide a more frequent service for residents and the opportunity for through running of trains to London Euston.
  3. Ensure that any building on the Radlett Aerodrome site does not preclude the consideration of a through link from the Abbey Line to the Midland mainline so that a direct link could be created from St Albans City station to Watford Junction at some point in the future, if it is seen to provide sufficient benefits.
